Just the Recipe | 1 Cocktail
Ingredients
2 1/2 oz Bourbon or Rye Whiskey
1/4 oz Maple Syrup
3 Dashes Orange Bitters
1 Luxardo Maraschino Cherry, and 1/2 tsp of the Cherry Juice
1 strip Orange Zest
Club Soda (optional)
Steps
Add the strip of orange zest and maraschino cherry to the bottom of a lowball glass. Muddle gently (optional). Add ice.
To a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the bourbon or rye whiskey, maple syrup, bitters, and cherry juice. Shake for 5 seconds.
Pour into the glass and top with 1 tsp - 1 TBS of Club Soda, if desired.

Kitchen Acumen Tips:
Luxardo Maraschino Cherries for cocktails will change your mixology game. I’d bet that once you have them, you’ll never go back. They come in a rich syrup, just a smidge of which will add a depth to the maple syrup in this recipe. A jar usually lasts a good long while making the price point very doable (especially when compared to prices you pay going out for drinks). Just be sure not to refrigerate them as the sugar will crystalize, ruining the texture of the cherries.
Substitutions:
Angostura Bitters for Orange Bitters.
Lemon for orange.
Filtered Water for Club Soda.
You’ll love using large ice cubes in cocktails as they melt slower and water down the drink less. They are also stunning.
